Wow--even well-evidenced, mild dissent gets the bold voice of god from Barry.

Is the cover on the left a fake? From what I can tell, it’s from April 2007, not 1977. The original headline was “The Global Warming Survival Guide”.

The 1977 “ice age” version doesn’t appear in the Time magazine cover archives for that year:
http://www.time.com/time.......rsearch

But the 2007 “global warming” version does…
see http://www.time.com/time.......00.html

Thoughts, anyone?

UD Editors: Really? The 1977 cover is one of the magazine’s most famous. Have you been living in a cave

Link

Then again, Barry did get caught lying--posting a poorly photoshopped Time cover that swaps the title "How to Survive the Coming Ice Age onto a 2007 Global Warming issue.

Photoshop

Real Cover

Revisiting this, there is a more charitable explanation I'm willing to extend to Barry and the UDites.

I think Barry is envious of Cave-dwellers, having been unable to master such technology himself.

"Have you been living in a cave"? is an envious question. He wishes sleep free from the cold embrace of the wind and wake up dry and warm. Wait 'till he sees fire. He'll be very interested. The wheel too - and it  also probably shows that trees are designed.

Seems now that a majority of Americans are beginning to accept global warming.  From the NY Times:

Americans Link Global Warming Extremes to Climate Change

This is great; if the majority of Americans accept that climate change is real, then UD's denialism will be the anchor that drags them down further into obscurity.*

*Unless of course, Barry purges all anti-climate change posts for all time and claims they were never agin' it, they were fer' it!

I've always wondered how long it would take for the conservative rural folk to overcome their hatred of all things librul and accept climate change. As they are the most affected they have the most to lose.

I wonder how long it will take those concerned about CO2 to resign themselves to nuclear.

I've been watching the progress on wind and solar and don't see much hope.

There are risks in every technology. More people die in automobile accidents every year than have been killed by nukes in all of history (including Hiroshima and Nagasaki).

Until the end of last year, Computers & Mathematics with Applications, an Elsevier title, was edited by Ervin Rodin. (The journal’s new editor is Leszek Demkowicz.) The Southern Evangelical Seminary (and Bible College) welcomes William Dembski to its fold.  He's going to teach Scientific Apologetics and Sheep Dip and he promises not to talk too much about the age of the earth or else.

Anybody remember when we used to have Fundamentalists?  Wonder whatever happened to them.  Oh wait, their antics covered themselves with so much shit they changed their name.

I wonder if the good Dr. Dr. will teach on why religion always tries to make themselves look scientifical, but scientists never try to make themselves look religionistic?

Probably not.

This marsupial wolf was in fact just the same creature as wolves elsewhere I say.
Likewise other “marsupials” were exact copys of placental countertypes.
Its been a great error of classification to see minor details of reproduction and a few other things as separating marsupials from placentals.
In fact it was just a general adaptation due to the area they moved into after the flood.
In fact marsupialism is simply a attempt to increase production of offspring.

The marsupial wolf was a just a wolf and would grab sheep. The farmers are right and simply it was not common because the wolves
were not that common.

Genetic studies should not have much faith placed in them to tell us of the past.
Convergent evolution is a myth alongside other evolutionary ideas.
Same shaped creatures are the same cxreatures after all.
minor adaptation abilities can account for difference.

by the way the marsupial wolf (Tasmanian tiger) did howl in the night.
Wolves do that.

The clear similarity between marsupial kangaroos and placental kangaroos should have been the first clue.  Shame on the scientists for not picking up on that.

If by exact copy you mean the equivalent to the total in my bank account being the same as the US GDP...

then I can agree with that.

Collin,

Unfortunately I have worked in food processing- if you want scary, well let’s put it this way, there are foods I will never eat again.

Does this mean Joe was paid to put on what's underneath that big shirt of his?

Went into the tard mine once again after successfully resisting for a long while. I think they miss you guys. Seems like Byers is the most prolific commenter over there, now. Heh.
I seem to have lost some of my tard parsing abilities, though.

I suppose it is a truism but, really, it’s not about science, metaphysics or religion.

It’s about simple, inerrant logic and the infantile, even at times, petulant, refusal of ‘naturalists’ to, as you indicate, Gil, follow the evidence where it leads.

That’s the real scandal, which future generations will ponder in appalled incredulity.

We choose our assumptions with our hearts, which can be sensitive to the truth or blank it, often with great emotional intensity, as many of them do, since it is their world-view that is in the balance.

Moral questions arising from the mismatch between the design of the penis and that of the anus could cause great anxiety, to not a few of the militant atheists in the ‘naturalist’ camp; hence the tendency to rage about scientific issues, relating to design.

WTF?
I guess his argument is YOU R ALL GAY!!!!
