Several prominent creationists are engineers or doctors or something. It's easy to let this small sample bias our opinions about those professions. So PZ asked for engineers and doctors who support evolution to reveal themselves.

Goddam, but there's been a huge response.

I see that FTK is already working her usual smarm:

Interesting that most of the comments on this thread are from atheists. Evolution...atheism. The two *always* seem to kinda go hand in hand, no?

(No, FTK, you are full of shit, just so you know.)

If ya don't like the god thing, you've obviously gotta hang with the evolutionists regardless of whether they're right or not.
Of course, you'll always have a few like Humburg to parade around.

I predict this will be Dembski and DaveTard's talking point when they deign to acknowledge this poll tomorrow.

Guilt by Association?

Yawn.

We're here, if you ever want to discuss the science, FtK.

Sorry, but what's wrong with atheism again?

Something about causing the Holocaust and destroying the American family. You'll have to ask FTK or GoP -- they'll remember.

What's one little holocaust and American family destruction between friends? I'll bet that Torquemada was an atheist too.

It's not as if we killed Jesus. That was the Jews and Romans. Mind you the Romans believed in funny gods, which obviously aren't real so they are atheists really. And the Jews don't believe in Jesus as god, esp at that time, so that makes them practically atheists. Oh yeah now I see it!

Atheists. Booo.

P.S. As usual for the perpetually humour and reason impaired, this is a joke.

Rats … my favorite topic comes up on one of the few days I’m not watching the blogs. My comment is way near the bottom of that thread.  My key point there:

Quote
Non-IDist engineers should challenge IDist/creationist engineers on their hypocrisy. (That's what I do.)

I actively challenge the IDists regarding the relationships between ID and Engineering. Here's a recent example at UD:

(My comments start about a third of the way down and then pick up again at the end.)

I wish more engineers would do this, but I understand why they don’t. The question “Why are so many engineers involved in ID/Creationism?’ is the flip side of the question “Why are so few engineers actively opposing ID/Creationism?” A simple answer to that question is “Engineering is not specifically targeted in the Wedge Document.”
