I still think the sucking off bit was a little extreme though, even though it was clearly hyperbole (although FtK does not use hyperbole when talking about those darn atheists, which in my opinion, is worse).

METAPHORICALLY sucking off. It's amazing how educated, intelligent people miss MASSIVE words that really do alter the tone and indeed MEANING of a comment.

Remember being at school when some kid sucked up to the teacher? Remember making slurping noises (or hearing them as you placed the apple on the desk). Do brown nosers really have shit on their noses? Or is it perhaps hyperbole, metaphor, humourous imagery designed to illustrate the ridiculousness of a situation?

Metaphoricalblow jobs and realblow jobs are different. Trust me. There would be much greater love and joy across the planet if this were not the case.

Oy gevalt!

Weird. I just read the Everett article a couple days ago.

It's actually very interesting.

I almost never read WingNutDaily anymore. I was actually driven away by some kind of anger-pity. They had a columnist named Kyle Williams. This kid was 15 or so, and could spout the Hannity-type nonsense with the best of them. They thought the kid was a phenom, when in fact he just demonstrated that any dork with no knowledge of history and too much zeal for Reagan and Jesus could do what they do. When I was 15 I was a dumbass too, but my parents didn't put me on display. I talked with this kid a few times, and was so upset that several adults had joined forces to parade him around on a national stage, that I just couldn't enjoy the tard there. It's like Prussian Blue; I can't laugh at what idiots they are because I'm too mad at the adults responsible.

If she still comes and lurks, reads, then begs for commentary, I think that says vastly more uncomplimentary things about her pathetic psychology than I have. She has a well documented persecution complex.

Indeed, she is seriously mind-screwed.  Worse even than "Uncle Davey" of T.O. fame.  (And anyone who thinks I was being too hard on poor FTK should go back and read some of the exchanges I had with THAT particular braincase.)

You just KNOW people are seriously mind-screwed when they actively seek out "persecution" just so they can make a big public show of whining about it.  Endlessly.

Like I said, FTK should thank every one of us, individually, for giving her exactly what she came here for.

Worse than Uncle Davey? Ohhhhh I think THAT is a little harsh! Almost NO ONE is worse than Uncle Davey, that guy was/is a serious creep.

Anyway, we better shut up, I've heard a tale that if you say his name three times he appears. I wonder what happened to Jason "I get better gas mileage by using my God" Gastrich?

Louis

P.S. You knew everything when you were 15 too? Cool. My dad was a total idiot when I was 15, by the time  I was 25 I was surprised by how much he had learned.

That never worked for me. Both my parents were academics. Yeesh. They always knew everything. That's how I learned to fake it. At 15 I thought I would be a rock star so I didn't need to know anything. Besides, I could just ask my parents.

That doesn't always work. My uncle is a very prominent geology professor, and that didn't stop his daughter from thinking he was a total idiot during most of her adolescence.

The United States is succeeding in its struggle against terrorism. The time has come to declare the war on terror over, so that an even more effective military and diplomatic campaign can begin.

Alcohol being such a wonderdrug, I occasionally do a little reading about it. Google, wikipedia, etc. This struck me as funny:

Quote
The primary effect of alcoholism is to encourage the sufferer to drink at times and in amounts that are damaging. The secondary damage caused by an inability to control one's drinking manifests in many ways.

It is common for a person suffering from alcoholism to drink well after physical health effects start to manifest. The physical health effects associated with alcohol consumption are described in 'Alcohol consumption and health', but may include cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis, polyneuropathy, alcoholic dementia, heart disease, increased chance of cancer, nutritional deficiencies, sexual dysfunction, and death from many sources.

If you drink well after the physical health effect of "death from many sources" occurs, I'm willing to say you have a drinking problem.

Well, since I doubt I could ever get in there after the gay thing and all the meth I used to do I suppose I won't have to worry about having to drink it.

But I got stuck with this stupid logical brain so I'd argue. Made me really wary of smart people for a long time.

Recently I switched from smoking Camels to using Skoal (again). Though it's widely understood that the cancer rates are much smaller with chewing tobacco, there's a curious reluctance to admit to that.

Is the logic the same as sexual abstinence logic? Is it the Left's version of condoms? The Right disdains telling people how to reduce the risk from sexual behavior, is the same logic making the Left unable to tell people how to reduce the risk from tobacco consumption?

Ben Franklin apocryphally said "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Maybe meth is the 21st century version of that?

Technically speaking, you wouldn't have to even BE a Calvinist to be saved, provided you had one of the Lucky Tickets, no?

I think it's just that chewing tobacco is so gross. :O

Oh, yeah. that's totally right. I didn't mean be a Calvinist to be saved, I meant be a Calvinist to feel better about whether or not you were saved. Personally, I think that's all gibberish, which is why I put it on the Bathroom Wall.

I put most of my views on religion and politics on the Bathroom Wall, because this site is registered to Wesley Elsberry, not Steve Story. Since Wesley doesn't endorse my views on those topics, it's only respectful of me to put such views on the off-topic area of this forum.

Not so sure. Check this out from the ADA a year after Shafer's piece.

So strictly speaking, according to Calvinist doctrine, there's really no concrete reason for anyone to even BE a Calvinist.

Wow.

Not so sure. Check this out from the ADA a year after Shafer's piece.

If you've never been around meth users, live in North Florida for a while. Meth users do suffer worse teeth on average. It's a consequence of three things:

1 meth dries up your mouth and
2 makes you all OCD and
3 you want to tweak with other stimulants

so meth people get dry mouth, they combat it by drinking a bunch of Mountain Dew, and then getting all obsessive-compulsive and brushing their teeth for like 4 hours, wearing the enamel away. It is a problem associated with meth, but it's not a direct consequence of the meth, and easily accommodated for.
