Sure, some of the folks who go there support those greater socio-political movements, but UD itself is really just a small gathering of small-minded, powerless, folk. I actually think the folks at UD - like, Barry, Joe, Gordo, Gil, etc. feel that the conservative, sectarian movement is failing, or at least not accomplishing the things they want. They feel powerless to put forth their real-life agendas, so they go to UD to vent and whine and feel powerful. It would be nice if people could refrain from visiting the site for a month just to see if the site would implode. Ever since Dave Scott left and DrDr has let go of the reins I've noticed that the site has cycled between being tolerant and wielding the ban hammer with abandon. Of course in the early days even expressing a polite doubt would get you banned.

We won't be able to see it. If we can't see the moon, does it still exist in the same sense as before when we could see it? If we can't see it how do we know it exists? If the moon is "new" what happened to the old one? Moving on (or not)... If the Father is the Son and the Son is the Father then, obviously, both exist at the same time. But before the Son there was the Father because, obviously, the Father precedes the Son. But how can the Son and the Father be the same thing if one preceded the other? Of course, Christians will tell you that the Son is "eternally begotten" of the Father, so that the Father doesn't precede the Son.
