Jeffrey Dahmer's father was one: http://tinyurl.com/kmxpna8....mxpna8.

I see a reference to "Direct Dating of Cretaceous-Jurassic Fossils (and Other Evidences for Human-Dinosaur Coexistence)" at http://tinyurl.com/odzr2qu....odzr2qu but I don't find anything else on that one.

{ABE} See also http://www.asa3.org/ASA........ng.html

Interesting, but I could have sworn there was a talk origins article on Austin taking samples to a lab and not telling them that they were from 2 billion year old rocks and getting all kinds of crazy results.

Thanks for the extra stuff!

Ah, but what about coexistence of Jurassic species and Cretaceous species? (Aside from those that happened to straddle the "boundary" between the eras.)

I thought you were asking about 14C dating? But that seems to ring a bell somewhere in my head too, maybe I'll look around.

Yeah, that was the whole thing.  He (whomever it was) took rocks that he knew would generate crap results and then published those crap results.

Argh, driving me crazy.

Thanks!

Are you guys thinking of the case where he had some material from recent lava flows in Hawaii radiometric dated?  The samples returned much older ages because there were much older xenoliths mixed in with his samples.  This was of course "proof" that all radiometric dating was fatally flawed.

My google-fu needs to be rebooted.

IIRC, there was a creationist who sent in samples for carbon dating, knowing that it would result in erroneous results.  I thought it was Austin, but I can't find it at Talk.origins.

Anyone recall what I'm talking about?

Yes. {Not}It was the Midwestern Creation Fellowship. I think Joe Meert, or Glenn Morton debunked their "report."{/not}

Hugh Miller in 1990, Creation Research Science Education Foundation (CRSEF) of Columbus, Ohio.

NCSE did an article: Creation/Evolution Issue 30, Summer 1992, pp. 1-9.

Here is an example of how creationists are using these "results" https://www.apologeticspress.org/apconte....cle=307

I just saw this today: http://creation.com/c14-din....4-dinos

Perhaps his false isochron from the Grand Canyon? A Criticism of the ICR's Grand Canyon Dating Project?

I don't think he made the point strongly enough in that article that the isochron could actually be valid, since the technique of using samples that solidified ad very different times but ultimately originated for a homogeneous magma to "lok back" through solidification is well known.

No, that was the mainstream scientist Engels as misiterpreted by Henry Morris.  http://www.talkorigins.org/indexcc/CD/CD013.html.

I've just started reading Henry Gee's book The Accidental Species, and the first chapter is about the Hobbit on Flores (the chapter's called An Unexpected Party, naturally). Whilst reading it, it struck me that nobody's photoshopped pictures of the Liang Bua cave looking homely with a green door. Then I looked at photos of the cave, and realised why - most of the photos are from the inside, and the scale's all wrong. Ho hum, another idea down the drain.

I think someone needs to mount an expedition to Flores to look for a better quality of hobbit hole.

No way is that Gildo.

Leaving aside the wanton disregard for punctuation, spelling and the shift-key in those comments, there's no way Dodgen would ever attempt to actually argue a point with anyone.

No, the only reason he ever graced the internet was to remind everyone how well educated he was, how transparently bogus evolution is and to thank Jesus for rescuing him from the abyssal maw of atheism.

Man! I just found out thaat Meyer and Dembski are going to have a two day conference (at Faith Bible Church) this weekend... only a few hours away.

I just want to ask each of them one question. Curiously, the church doesn't have a contact page.

usually the women thing is to promote women in science as they historically and today lag behind. I don’t think women can compete with men intellectually because of a lack of motivation or rather not as motivated as men. men are made to be accomplished and women were made to help men only as the bible teaches. in science accomplishment this is made obvious as affirmative action can’t hide the ratio.

If you're going to accuse an intelligent, articulate, accomplished woman who is actively working in HIV research of misogyny, you should provide some evidence.  If you can't, you should retract your unsupported insult.
