I believe I am stupid. I can't find what I am seeking.

I enter a word I know is present in the subject and search AtBC, or the BW. Or, I search my username in titles & posts.

Nothing. Nothing.

Enter "Leathers" into the search - result: "No matches".

Then use Advanced Google search specifying "www.antievolution.org" as the site to search in - results: Plenty.
Strange, isn't it?

Probably this is a case for the "Board Mechanics" thread (if moderators want to move this topic, feel free), but I'm happy with Google for now.

Fine, I'll try that. But it used to be possible to use the forum's own search facility. I could for example search for posts by  username.

Did you find the article about two mutations that you were looking for the other day?

No, I haven't found what as far as I can remember was a quite interesting article. But that is no longer all that important; I just found it somewhat relevant to something i was trying to write at the time.

That's going to become a great blog article.  Thanks for posting it.

Final conclusion: Just because caves are young, doesn't mean the entire Earth is.

Well, it seems a lot of people had already made the connection. It is even referenced in Mark Isaac's Index.

No one would have believed that
in the last years of the 19th century
that human affairs where being watched
from the timeless worlds of space
No one could have dreamed we were being scrutinized
as someone with a microscope studies creatures
that swarm and multiply in a drop of water
Few man even considered the possibility of life on other planets
and yet across the gulf of space
minds immeasurably superior to ours
regarded this Earth with envious eyes
and slowly and surely
they drew their plans against us.

I have conversations with my friend G about what jobs we would/wouldn't take for ethical reasons. We're both nominally fairly ethical, but living in rural north florida in a shitty economy bends one's principles. We've concluded that under no circumstances would we work for payday lenders. Simply too unscrupulous and destructive. But I have noticed all the ads that accompany right-wing media for miracle cures, armageddon supplies, gold coins, etc., ...apparently the tards can be mined for more than humor! Those social security disability checks are just itchin to get spent on some buhhhhh-shit.

But I wonder what I could sell them...

Sad to say, the unexpected, earth shaking news is that the instruments are all working, mostly.

I'm afraid someone overstated the case.

Since his attack has a low density of victims the Nigerian scammer has an over-riding need to reduce false positives. By sending an email that repels all but the most gullible the scammer gets the most promising marks to self-select, and tilts the true to false positive ratio in his favor.

explains creationism very well.

extending to other factions, such as tea party tards or the earth is our mother tards, makes me wonder if the "low density of victims" is always relevant.

Seems that if there are other interests in the mix (and this takes it out of the particular scammer scenario and into a more general dupe the dupes scenario) then this could be reasonable explanation for how social movements often sacrifice broadly appealing platforms on the altar of ideological purity.

Seems to me that UD is made up entirely of Nigerians scamming each other.

Except that they don't actually pay attention to each other or notice when they contradict each other.

For example, the two rising stars -- gpuccio and Upright Biped -- disagree fundamentally on whether information can be non material or whether semiosis can take place non-materially.

Gpuccio says the designer is non material and interacts with DNA to poof new protein domains into existence.

UB insists that only a material process can manipulate information.
