Nick Matzke is now officially Nick Matzke, Ph.D. with a dissertation explicitly on evolutionary biology from the University of California at Berkeley.

Antievolutionists everywhere now have to explain why Dr. Nick Matzke's opinions aren't worth as much as Duane Gish's or Jonathan Wells' opinions on some grounds other than type of terminal degree or alma mater.

Nick is off to a postdoc in Knoxville, TN where he will be doing actual biological research, another characteristic that will distinguish him from almost all of his antievolutionist detractors.

Dr. Matzke has produced an enviable record of publications at an amazingly early point in his academic career. When some antievolutionist tries to convince you otherwise, ask how many publications in venues like Nature their favored source might have done before acquiring their Ph.D.

I've been anticipating this event for a while. Congratulations, Nick, and best wishes on a long and productive career in science. You certainly have a great start on it.

E: Fixing my geography.

I thought Dr. Matzke (has a nice ring to it) was going to be in Knoxville TN, probably decked out in that awful shade of orange.

Not that he'd not be welcome in Kentucky - heck, that would be one more cause for sleepless nights for Ken Ham.  But ....
