KF,

Each interval between any two points in time is finite.

The set of durations of these intervals is unbounded.

It’s just like the statements I posted above about intervals in the set of real numbers.

Ed George gets in a good one.  Robert Marks whines about peer review - it's not good enough!  I'm going to quote Ed's entire reply:
Quote
1 Ed George  May 15, 2020 at 9:24 pm

A few decades ago the number of journals in any field was small, costly to produce and costly for libraries to purchase. As such, there was pressure placed on the journals to ensure that the papers it published were of high quality. The internet, however, has changed this.

Today there are a large number of journals competing for papers. I have only published a couple papers in the last couple years but not a week goes by when I don’t receive an email from a journal asking me to submit a paper.

There has also been a proliferation of journals created in an attempt to provide credibility to a scientific view that is questionable, at best. These can most easily be identified by the fact that the authors of most of the papers published also belong to the editorial board of the journal.

For those keeping count, Colorado had -272 deaths Friday.

In the state of Barryland, if you have a bad heart and somebody shoots you in the head, the cause of death is listed as "heart failure" because that would've killed you eventually.

Barry, you have a tendency to react emotionally to conclusions but ignore the evidence used to reach them. I have a pretty good track record on topic (appreciating the scale of this threat when you didn’t, seeing the flaws in the now revised but still flawed antibody study, knowing what the imperial model papers said which countries they modeled), so you might have reason to think I know what I’m talking about here. And sure enough, the two numbers are expected to converge as outstanding death certificates are processed: https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news....ovid-19

So, pulled less from my ass and more from some understanding of public health reporting processes…

Oh my… It didn’t seem to me that UB was even mounting a defence of your claim that the genetic code doesn’t work through a series of chemical reactions. They just enumerated some of the reactions and tried to make something out of the word discontinuous.

KF’s posts were entirely indecipherable to me.

Folks, the US is one step removed from deliberate plagues as part of its 4th gen unacknowledged civil war. That is how bad this is. As it is, lockdown on plague fears has become part of a political calculus on assumption that people vote their pocketbooks so if we can scapegoat Mr X, we can unseat him and get back to our worldview-infused political/cultural agenda. If you are implicitly willing to influence a decision on the dismal balance of pandemic deaths vs recession/depression deaths towards creating needless harm to win an election, that is demonically sick. Where, closely linked, is unwillingness to acknowledge steadily accumulating empirical evidence supportive of HCQ cocktails as a buy time for immune system to kill the infection treatment. (There are no true “cures” for highly infectious viruses.) Do we really read the signs of our times? KF

PS: FWIW, and this is far, far from endorsement [for cause . . .], I would suggest that between the emerging scandal of policing agencies and courts [starting with FISA] getting politicised and carrying out vendettas that now have documents with smoking gun handwriting finally reaching the public after 2 years of delay tactics, the inconsistency on “me Too” now affecting a campaign, blatant media bias, social media censorship [as in we can be platforms and prblishers unacountable over what we implicitly endorse] other issues leading to rising polarisation, the smart money bets on Peasant Rebellion 2, with 3 likely to follow. Get used to the age of peasant uprisings by ballot box, or it will become by the bullet box. And, trends are key to analysis.

BO’H, gold standard fallacy in the teeth of adequate inductive, empirical warrant that shows efficacy over and above the de facto standard treatments. In fact, placebo control double blind tests etc are known to face ethical challenges which make them inappropriate in many cases. One of those is, risk of harm in the face of a fast moving fatal pandemic disease that can kill in days. Such issues have already been discussed here at UD. The implication of your phrasing is that in fact epistemologically and inductively adequate warrant is improperly dismissed as it does not meet a demanded gold standard; one which is ethically challenged. KF

PS: Kindly notice the onward results in France.

Spacetime is a frozen block universe and nothing can move in it. It doesn’t exist. So how can anything “see” the curvature of spacetime? Einstein’s general relativity assumes that gravity travels at the speed of light. If that were true, the gravitational field would be elongated in the direction of a planet’s motion. This is not observed. Newtonian gravity would not work at all if that were true. General relativity is complete bunk, pure fraudulent globalist science in the tradition of Darwinian evolution and abiogenesis. The LIGO project’s supposed detection of so-called gravitational waves is one of the biggest scientific scams in history, to the tune of billions of dollars of the taxpayer’s money. We live in a world of lies but nothing lasts forever.

The fact that nothing can move in spacetime is known to many physicists but it is rarely discussed in universities and physics circles because it refutes the claim repeatedly made in the last century by relativists (including Einstein himself) that gravity is due to the curvature of spacetime and to bodies following their geodesics in curved spacetime. In the words of Wolfgang Pauli, this stuff is not even wrong.

Funny how UD seems to attract cranks who each think they have defeated the theory of evolution in their own unique way - Mapou/FF through his own crank physics, Upright Biped via semiotics, Granville Sewell through thermodynamics, Barry with assholism, and others, and they keep it up year in year out.

In spite of the minor fact that biologists continue to use said theory in their work, totally disregarding the "defeat".

It's sort of analogous to Egypt and China continuuing their civilizations in spite of the "Flood". I guess they didn't get the memo.

Oh no. kf's response is that a high quality retrospective study is shit because some guys said that RCTs take too long, so instead high quality retrospective study should be used.

I'm honestly not sure if kf is bullshitting or utterly clueless.

PS: I again point to what Dr Raoult is, what he directs and the accumulation of evidence on this case.

Yes, he represents a single non-controlled retrospective study, and you buy it hook, line and sinker. But when a more comprehensive high quality retrospective study covering a far greater number of patients fails to find a benefit, you choose to ignore it. And you accuse others of not following the evidence.

The Lancet study with its 96;000 patients is fake news because it evaluates HCQ out of context. So any conclusions about HCQ’s effectiveness is irrelevant because they used a bogus method to evaluate the drug.

It is being used probably knowingly in an invalid way. A lot of countries are having low mortality rates and associating it with use of HCQ soon after diagnosis. But not the US which is misusing it.

Jerry is easily as smart as KF and BS.
