TBH though, rather than ye olde flood and other whatnots, my favorites are when humans act on the deity's behalf (when isn't that the case, really) and commit the slaughter themselves. And when that's over you get the shrug and retroactive Nuremburg defense of "just following orders" and told take it up with said deity.
