An empty gallon of milk still takes up the same space as a full gallon Billy. I know, I used to have roommates how would put the freakin' empty gallon jug back in the refrigerator. But it is still an empty gallon- devoid of content, meaning empty. ;)

It's almost like you could COMPRESS the empty jug, or something... what a dolt!

Wow, now he thinks that milk is the same as a plastic bottle that contains the milk.

"Waitress, I'd just like the plate that held a hamburger.  It's the same thing."

But not the plate that had the fries - I'm on a diet.

Now all you have to do is hold the chicken, bring me the toast, give me a check for the chicken salad sandwich, and you haven't broken any rules.

His "evidence" is other peoples "evidence" but he's unable to discriminate between the crud provided by the YEC's and the actually scientifically supportable evidence provided by the real scientists?

One has to wonder how he determines when his carton of milk has gone off.

Joe creates 'empirical evidence' every time he posts on his blog then. What a buffoon of the highest order!

In case ya hazn't noticed, ole Joe switches to the Good Ole Boy spellin' when he knows he been out gunned, out run and out done.

He's all blah, blah, blah until he's in the corner, and he KNOWS he's in the corner, then out comes the Good Ole Boy.

Ya see tha copy number you evilutionists consider extra information is a silent number like the "f" in enough.  Simple, ya see?

Oh, the other guy that does that is FL.  Come to think of it, has anyone seen JoeG and FL in the same place at the same time???  Could it be ...

Joe G:
Quote
With that said to measure biological information, ie biological specification, all you have to do is count the coding nucleotides of the genes involved for that functioning system and then multiply by 2 (four possible nucleotides = 2^2)…

He refers us to an example:
Quote
Now if you look you will see how many base pairs it has and The "Number of Primary Annotation coding bases" ??

So we take 529477 and multiply by 2.?? Can you do that???

That would be the minimal specified information of M.g. (RB's emphasis)

So, Joe's claim is that a count of base pairs * 2 yields a measure of "specified information."

Now comes the other Joe G:
Quote
Bill, as I and other IDists have said specification in biology refers to biological function. But what can be done is to measure the information carrying capacity.

Okay, so now Joe's claim is that a count of base pairs * 2 is a measure of the "information carrying capacity" of a sequence, NOT of the "specification in biology" carried therein.

Which is it?

You assholes STILL don't have any evidence that genetic errors can accumulate in such a way as to construct functional multi-part systems.

All you have are a bunch of promissory notes- that and an immense ignorance of information.

The metaphysical recourse is there are plenty of other explanations for the rad dating than just an old earth.

One being the Earth is made up of old debris, as in the rad isotopes were decaying in that debris for billions of years before aggregating to form the earth.

IOW it will last a long, long time...

Have you ever been outside to see actual ... mountains, granites, sediments?  Things that are real?  Even a four-year old can recognize the difference between a pile of  rock and sediments layed down over millions of years.

It's a given that any theory is, to some extent, underdetermined by evidence. But we have good reasons to choose the simplest theory, which has historically led to the most successes in prediction and control of phenomena. And thus far no amount of sociological or theistic anti-realists have come up with a better explanation of this success than a convergence on truth.
