Peter Pan was possibly the first interactive drama. The scene sounds stupid when described, but in a live performance it is unbelievably compelling.
We are fortunate that Barry didn't try to start a new religion. Or maybe unfortunate. He might have improved on the competition. |
I assume you mean JM Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, not Barry, the tyrant of UD.
I've heard that Barrie was backstage for the first performance of Peter Pan, and was afraid the audience of children would not react appropriately at that scene. He was overwhelmed by the actual response.
OTOH, Barry's preferred religion probably involves children, flames, and statue named Moloch.
