Topic: Inducting afarensis?, Should we make him a full CBEB?< Next Oldest | Next Newest >

Some of you might have seen that afarensis,  is leaving ScienceBlogs.  That means he's no longer a professional blogger, but a pleb like the rest of us.  As such, we no longer have to look up to him in awe (which is a relief, really - I was finding it hard to keep a straight face).

So, should we now elect this CBEB wannabe to become a full CBEB?  has he done enough to be dragged down to our level?  What say you?

Yes, with teh following caveats:

1) Less fact based content
2) More scripture
3) Most pass the LOLCAT entrance exam
4) Needs to suggest a PoTW and a FTFU / FT4U.
5) Needs an active sock puppet

And why hast thou left the warm, loving embrace of the SciBorg Blogs?

If that's not too cheeky a question. Musical differences? Real life? Can't you just take a hiatus from the Borg and return to being assimilated?

You'll need to learn this for your induction:

I pledge allegiance to RichardTHughes
The immortal leader of our race.
And to the order for which he stands.
One great cause,
Sacred and invincible.

Just so Afar clearly understands that induction into the Pinhead clan requires a second full round of juvenile hazing...

With that caveat, then, sure!   :p

Although I haven't been a CBEB long I have been studying CBEB culture, anthropologically, for several years and believe the culturally dictated response is to say "Har, Har, Har, this is Richard" followed by the posting of a salacious or insulting LoLcat:

Edit to add: I hope I have responded in the culturally appropriate fashion

P.S. pinheads evolved from afarensis...

I’m running out of naming options for these increasingly sick people. I started out a month ago with Church Burners. Then I had to add Ebola Boys. Church Burning Ebola Boys. Now what - Church Burning Baby Butchering Ebola Boys? That’s too long. Too unwieldy. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Church Burning Ebola Boy - a lable given to posters here by the much despised totally discredited and now departed moderator of UD, DaveScot Springer. (RIP)

It is a lable worn with honor, and not easily earned or awarded.  For example, I believe that the usual entry into the highly selective club is now at the 10 burnt - church level, (full or partial) to go with the requisite dispensation of 3 vials of ebola virus. (Spread best through church-sponsored cookie sales and church cook outs - it goes great with potato salad).

HTH :)

Ahh, those were the days, when vast herds of mighty TARD thundered across the plains bannating everything in their path. Now only a few sad and lonely stragglers remain protected, in uncommonly dense conservation areas, by praying marines...

Ah, the church burning! I'd forgotten about that. I was thinking of things like 'Christian-baiting Evolutionary Brethren' but that didn't sound right.

*sniffle* Why, that brought a tear to my jaundiced eye and gives good evidence of your true CBEB-tude.

Another has joined our rank ranks. Whiskey and beer all around! Music! Bring forth the dancers in their gauzy veils (Loose and Arden's Mum) -- let there be feasting and merriment!

This seemed like an appropriate place to mention that I have moved, yet again. My new, and hopefully permanent, home is here. Please adjust links accordingly...

P.S. I would PM Erasmus but I am not Jerry!
