Especially since the word "Oldsmobile" appears several times.

I know we generally eschew politics, but I think we can all recognize some of our old friends from the Creationist universe in the colorful ideas held by Trump super fans.

Listened to a podcast with a guy who worked at Google for 15 years who talked about how no matter how ethical they think they are, there are major financial incentives to sell your data and to track you etc.

I’ve been meaning to do it for some time, but it just hit the breaking point so this morning I dumped Gmail, set up the Brave browser again, switched it to DuckDuckGo, got a ProtonMail account, and signed up for Neeva dot com, an upcoming search engine that won’t show you ads or keep your data. I’ve got money now, I can pay to be the customer instead of the product. But we really shouldn’t have to.

And when the iPhone 12 comes out in September or October I’m going to switch to that and not have any Google apps on my new phone. Apple Maps for getting around, ProtonMail for mail, Proton Calendar should be coming out soon, Neeva for search and Brave disabling ads and tracking. Whole setup is probably going to cost me 200 bucks a year. Worth it. I might even look into Proton’s VPN.

Vanity Fair article about how Kushner and friends were putting together a national comprehensive response to the coronavirus in March but the administration canceled it when they decided that since it was mostly happening in big democratic cities, the best political move would be to do nothing and then use it to attack Democrats.

Man, what’s up with pandas thumb? Intelligent design died 15 years ago and the site isn’t really needed anymore, but it was still good to check out every now and then. It’s been down for a week.

CDC: Nationwide, 200,700 more people have died than usual from March 15 to July 25. That number is 54,000 higher than the official count of coronavirus deaths for that period.

Fauci was right and the creationists were wrong, but that goes without saying.
