Yes, thanks! I had kids come home from jobs and school.
And I thank everyone here for all the comments and hard work at tracking, noting and LOLing the IDsts throughout the year.

Daughter #1 and SIL #1 are still in Boston, so didn't plan to visit. Daughter #2 is back in southern Wisconsin - she helped fix meals for a Ronald McDonald House in Chicago.

What would we do without text messages?

From another BB:

My favorite Turkey recipe

a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that.

8 - 15 lb. turkey
1 cup melted butter
1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good)
1 cup un-popped popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT IS BEST)
Salt/pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Brush turkey well with melted butter, salt, and pepper. Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan making sure the neck end is toward the front of the oven, not the back.

After about 4 hours listen for the popping sounds.
When the turkey's rear end blows the oven door open and the bird flies across the room,.... it's done.

Thank you. We opted for the small group gathering this year. Much less pressure and hassle. Skyped the rest of extended family.

that popcorn recipe sounds great...

we raise more turkeys than we should and butchered 30 for the thanksgiving holiday. donated two broad breasted bronze turkeys (38 & 35 lbs) to the local food bank, kept a 10.5 lb heritage (bourbon red) for our dinner, and distributed the rest to friends (mostly BB Bronze with a couple of Heritage birds in the mix).

Our bird turned out great and topped off a very peaceful day on the our hill.

...now what to do with the other 25 turkeys......
