This appears to be flying week. Always traumatic for us. We never know how many survive; only that there's a hatching every year. Caught him taking in the late afternoon sun on the return hike from the dinosaur tracks in Purgatoire Canyon, Colorado. Sneffels Wilderness. There were thousands of them at 10,000 feet and above in mostly open areas that tended to be wetter than surrounding areas.
