Nudie photos would surely scare everyone off (and likely get me in trouble with my guy, do you think?). #### it. First it was Richardthughes making me lie in bed and snigger until 2 a.m. (Some of us have to get up in the morning Richard!;) Now it’s Louis pulling a funny about my virtual Dembster diving while I’m at work. (“What’s so funny Kristine?” “Oh, nothing.”)

No it’s not my dear. Men and women do the same dance movements (and you thought they were all prudes in the Middle East. Ever heard of Turkish Baths?). Someday preacher-man is going to shimmy to my tune, and so are you! Bwahahahahah!

Oh and BTW how can you fancy Dembski? The man would surely weasel his way out of perfectly egalitarian orgasmic delivery by claiming he did not have to match your pathetic level of erogenous stimulation.

He won’t even match my pathetic level of replying (not that I blame him at all—he probably thinks I’m a friggin’ lunatic stalker.) But if he and I had met in first year college I can tell you I would have fixed his little red wagon. Ah, alternative universes. *Twirls moustache, then stops in panic and reaches for tweezers* Doncha love getting old?

OW and UD are currently down. What's the betting OW is getting purged? :) It got quite odd on there today. TroutMac hardly knew what to say! And whatever would the students think if they logged on looking for ID warez? I doubt school internet (high school) web content filters would let it through! Ironic really for a site aimed at students. C'mon DaveScot Dell Rich Man Interwebs guru, do some homework!

To me it is strange that Darwinists describe NS as a “force”, when it is merely the description of the results, being that of replicators out-replicating each other.

Actually, it is an *observation* of a causitive correlation between certain heritable traits and reproductive success.

Atom
Quote
By talking about it as a mechanism, people then begin to ascribe all sorts of attributes to it, even “intelligence” (see Feebles…)

Febble merely applied Dembski's definition of "intelligence". That the definition is often conflated with other such definitions leading to vast confusion within the Intelligent Design community is irrelevant to her carefully constructed argument

If a tiny mutation produces a survival and reproduction advantage, and the critter gets struck by lightening or is eaten by a predator before the mutation can be passed on, then is natural selection not at least partially random? What am I missing?

Reproductive success is not solely determined by heritable traits. However, it is not random by any means. And reproductive success can often be *observed* to be due to heritable variation. This causitive correlation is called "natural selection".

Kristine,

I still reckon my "sexual selection of Tard" hypotheses a few threads away apply. It can be the only rational explanation for your unnatural desires. Unless......

....hmmmm......

I did have this idea of going around to Jehovah's Witnesses' houses very early in the am with a case of strong beer, a bottle of vodka, several large joints, a woman of a certain morally casual nature and a stack of porn and converting them to my way of life. I was at university at the time.

It sadly never amounted to much, although the photo of Mr Belushi does bear a very striking resemblance to my university self. TOGA! TOGA!

Are you trying to convert Dembski to rationality by means foul or fair? Is this some kind of Honey Trap? Curiouser and curiouser.

Louis

P.S. Deadman, happy days, happy days. I still have the video rights remember.

Re "So Mike Gene admits that the entire fossil record of change from fish to man is due to evolutionary change, but is "trivial", "irrelevant" and not "deep"."

Well, it was deep while it was fish, since they're underwater, but after they came out on land, it wasn't deep anymore.

Now that I've got that all cleared up... :p

I really do not want to dwell on Kazmer's theories about cancer. These are interesting and I am sure he will test them out as soon as his hectic lab schedule allows.

So Kazmer has a lab schedule, and it's so hectic that the he can't be bothered with testing things like cancer cures.

It is strange that evolutionists never get around to addressing the scientific issue. Wesley Elsberry appears to be denying convergence, but that can't be true. If he has an explanation for convergence then let's hear it. If not, then admit it. Here is the question for evolutionists: How is it that similarities such as the pentadactyl pattern are such powerful evidence for evolution, in light of equala and greater levels of similarity in distant species, such as dsplayed in the marsupial and placental mouse?

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/evolution/library/01/4/pdf/l_014_02.pdf

Sorry for coming in late on this (just got back from a workshop in the wilds of Finland).  Anyway, I just want to complain that the marsupial and placental mouse are totally different: there's not the same colour for a start.

Bob

If you check that .pdf file, you'll see why Dr. Hunter has trouble telling them apart by color.  He's using a coloring book as a reference and it hasn't been colored yet.

By the way, Dr. Hunter has his own thread going on this now.

This quizzlestick person over at OE must be loki.  I mean, come on:

Quote
Critics of Intelligent Design often present the same few objections to our theory: They claim that we do not yet offer a testable theory, and that we avoid peer-review of our discoveries because we have something to hide.

Yep, the same tired old objections to our theory:  1)  You don't have one.  2)  There's no legitimate research to back up the theory you don't have.

I mean come on, evolutionistas, is that the best argument against ID theory you can come up with?   That it doesn't exist?  As we all know, you can't prove a negative, so the theory that there is no ID theory is itself fallacious.  QED, design.
Quote
Those of us who have spent hard years grappling with the finer points of Intelligent Design know that nothing could be further from the truth: There is no group I know who work harder to attempt to explain these difficult scientific topics than ourselves.

We don't have time to do scientific research, we're too busy "explaining the difficult scientific concepts."  To ourselves.
Quote
Intelligent Design is the tiny-seed from which will grow an enormous tree of science

It's a lot bigger when it's hard, I swear.  No really.  Stop!  Come back!

Since I don't really have any ID experiments to do, I was waiting and waiting (and waiting) for Jesus to come and I realized that ID needs a good soundtrack. Of course the words go like this, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the Earth..."

Man. Sometimes I feel guilty when I realize that these people really don't understand why they are so ridiculous.

Would evolution of an adaptive immune system qualify as "deep" or at least "non-trivial?" It's amazing to me that it could have happened by a single HGT. Did I read that right?
