well, i suddenly realized i have now spent more time on PT/ATBC than i have on any other form I've ever been on, including opendemocracy.org, and the popular photography forum.

....and after 12 plus years, I've also suddenly grown weary of my handle.

time for a change.

so, for a little bit of fun, I'd like to throw it out to those who've seen me at my best and worst, for about 2 years now.

I'll leave this open for a couple of weeks and select what suits me at the end of that time.

no need to be tasteful, just "fitting"  ;)

(and original)

cheers, and thanks

Not directly related, but my favorite name of anything is the name of the band Stark Naked and the Car Thieves.

Agreed, they had the best band name evar. And they're from my (former) hometown of San Jose!

But I also like 'Two-Headed Grampa', which I saw in Bloomington, Indiana, long ago.

But hey, this isn't helping Sir TJ!

Oliver Klozoff? Heywood Jablome? Al Coholic?

lol.

well, that might work for this particular board.

I was kinda thinking about "Church-Burning Ebola-Boy #32"

but again, it's just so topic-specific.

Off the subject,.... hilarious band names, how about Aussie band Machine Gun Fellatio complete with KK Juggy who performs nude calisthenics on stage? You have been warned.

STJ The only reason I can think you need to change your handle is that your toe is getting really sore ...how about Sir Hopsalot? or Sir Wearsoutalottaboots hardly inspiring I know. But for a little hilarity you could have 2 names and start argueing with yourself. Accusing each other of stealing your handles, throwing in some moral relativism and slandering each other by saying the other is a closet Nazi. hehehehe just the usual ID type stuff.

hhmmm. You would have to drop the "Sir" part, else all will know it is you, no?

Well, how about "Lord" then? You don't even have to add something to the end of it, and you get to provoke some fundies, because they would just HATE to say "Lord, I think you are wrong" or "Lord, I think you are an A-ss"!

Or, you could go for "Lord FishFinger, Lord Python". "ShowMeSomeID" is also ...oh well. I still like the churn burning ebola boy thingy. However, instad of Church-Burning Ebola-Boy #32, you could do Church-Burning Ebola-Boy #69. or "Boy Church"

Vicious Fish:    a local SF based band, I know the lead singer.

Bad Tuna:  Amateur ice hockey club in my local beer league.  Their team logo is a Dr Seuss fish holding a hockey stick.

I recommend "digital trauma", a medical term for a nosebleed inflicted by enthusiastic nose picking.  Somehow it seems appropriate on the web.

You could adopt a symbol, like the Chinese character for fish, and you could then be "The blogger formerly known as Sir T"

not a bad idea.  I'll think more about this.  I'm english/irish/NA Indian by geneology.

I wonder if there is a celtic symbol for fish?

EDIT:

LOL, of course the first thing i ran into in a search for celtic fish symbols was this:

http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/symbols/bldefsvesica.htm

"Vesica pisces"

oooh.  I think that just moved to the top of the list.

so much symbology, so much history.

ah yes, this is becoming more and more productive the more i delve into it.

This definetly looks promising to generate both a new handle and an appropriate avatar.

from NA Indian mythos:

Quote
Fish: In North American Indian cultures, the fish represents a refusal to recognize the power of another's magic.

Indeed.

The fish.  such fertile ground for examing Xian mythology.  I think by tommorrow next week, I'll have worked something out to show ya all.

So that's why AFDave identified himself as a Pisces.   :p   It all makes sense now.

I am a fan of Ziyi Zhang (lesbianish fan) and sometimes when I chat in Yahoo, I use "Crouching Woman Hidden Tampon".

A friend of mine uses "Preparation H Medicated Asswipe".

Another friend uses "Deck My Balls With Lauren Holly"

Sorry now my brain just went blank.

Ok, here goes.  after much internal debate, I decided on something relatively simple, but obscure, with an appropriate oxford definition and an interesting history:

"Ichthyic"

Oxford English Dictionary (C.E.) defines "Ichthyic" as "of, pertaining to, or characteristic of fishes; the fish world in all its orders."

and with this:

as an avatar (it's a very fishy version of the triquetra), I'm sure I'll arouse enough confusion to be able to send all those idiots who think they understand the  "Ichthus" to places like this for their education:

http://www.atheists.org/christianity/fish.html

or here:

http://altreligion.about.com/library....eta.htm

or maybe teach them some celtic mythos.

so here goes nothing...

hmm, seems account names and handles are attached at the hip.  I'm guessing I'll need Wes to change it.
