Yes, let that be a lesson to all of you who are mocking Strine. If you Anoiapithecus you just might end up with a brevirostris!*

I was pulled over by a cop in Albama who actually said, "Y'all in a heap a' truble boy."

I kept from laughing by remembering these bastards kill people. (Not quite as often as the LA or NYC cops).

We parted friends after I parted with $50.

"Y'all" is fairly common in Missouri, but I had to go to Arkansas before hearing "All y'all".

I enjoy the way 'all y'all" has increased the variation in my profanity: "Well, fuck all y'all, then" has a satisfying "and the horse you rode in on" heft.

KC

Missouri is interesting in that regard.  With folks from the southern part of the state I could say y'all without it being noticed.  In Columbia and the St. Louis metro, people would giggle when I said it.  Since I have a fairly light accent, the use of y'all was often the only time people would notice it.  I did have one coworker in Columbia who was from New York that would try to give me flak.  I would then translate the sentence for her, replacing y'all with yooz guys.

best usage, evar, true story

this dumb drunk redneck pig I know god blessim was riding around myrtle beach hanging out of a truck window being a dumb drunk redneck and hollering shit at girls on the strip there.  they were cruising you know.  and he was saying "i'd fuck you" you you you you like you know a dumb drunk redneck idiot would be doing, hanging out of a truck window and about 23 and dumber than a horny fence post.  and there were four or five girls in a group and he started you now I'd do you you you you and he lost count and said "Hell I'd fuck youns-all!!!"  which is of course what makes that relevant

needless to say he puked in the front seat.  and i don't approve of this dumb drunk redneck idiot pig but I do affirm an admiration for those who, when pressed with a difficult choice to go hard or go home, go hard.

if you are going to be dumb you have got to be tough.

In the Kansas City area, one can say 'y'all' without comment, but most people don't use it.

Makes me wonder, what’s the toughest – being a scientist, maybe even doing science, mining the tard, or just surviving the after hours?

The way rag is being chewed, it just makes this innocent bystander curious.

Big question: Why is there no creationist counterpart to AtBC?

IMO...

Because comedy requires a certain intelligence and way of looking at the world, and Creo's and IDCists just aren't hard-wired to do this.  If you are attracted to UD / ID you are more likely to just not get it.

Think about the posters at UD -  Dembski, Densye, Gordon, BA77 etc, and you see pretty clearly that the only comedy at UD is unintentional.

There's the "phylogenists" email list, the closed forum now run by Bill Dembski. Here's a bit of amusing wit from Casey Luskin for those on the "phylogenists" list. One of his fellow list members re-posted it on a Finnish-language Usenet newsgroup, putting it in the clear. Excerpt:

Quote

Scott definitely speaks "scientese".  She presents herself as a scientist,
which she once was, who is trying to do the right thing for science.  She
is very charismatic, funny, and very good at getting people behind what
she's saying. It's no wonder she's the director of the NCSE.  In the past
I've compared Eugenie C. Scott to Darth Vader because she is full of
internal contradictions, knows in her heart she's lying, powerful,
persuasive, and most importantly, she travels around representing the
dominating power (the Empire) and fighting the good guys.  All in the name
of ...well, I'm not exactly sure what her motivation is yet.  It's
certainly not truth.

Yep, loads of fun over there, right?

Wow, that's a load of bollocks, for sure! The paragraph right after the one Wes quoted is even more of a hoot. Note how Casey has to explain his analogy for the tards (can't leave anything to chance!!!), and then fantasizes about his heroic role in this saga!
Quote
(On the other hand, there is the rebellion against the Empire.  Small, understaffed, often outgunned and outmanned, but not outsmarted.  However, the rebellion has the people of the galaxy behind them, and most importantly, the Force.  Of course not all of us in the rebellion believe in the "force" (the analogy is God), but what unites the rebellion is the common belief in the problems with the current establishment, and the desire to replace it with something better.  When we introduced ourselves in the class, I should have said I was Luke Skywalker, but I suppose I was under the control of her powers at the time so I just said I was Casey, an earth sciences major.)

(d) lives in Windsor, relatively round the corner from where I live. Just FYI. It's not like I've been stalking her or anything......well not since the Judge told me to knock it the fuck off.

Apparently the poor lady has had some tough times. I think she needs comforting, it's really difficult to manage that from a radius no closer than 100 metres.

I am firmly convinced that I would be happy to discuss the complete vacuuity of Intelligent Design all night long with any and/or all of them, but if forced to make a decision based on totally superficial characteristics, such as color of eyes, breast size and/or hawtness, it would be (B).  I mean (A). Damn! Changed my mind, it's (D).

Can I sample for  while, then decide?

added in edit:  Damn it all!  What with the mutiple choices, and tem wionkin' at me and all, I forgot the crucial point, which I think, is tha these are ALL Aussie Wimens!

I have all new respect for the phrase "down under", and of course wonder why Wilkens would waste any time at all posting anywhere, when he could NOT be posting, but doing other things, if you know what I mean.  And I think you do.
