I'm willing to bet my house that gpuccio's objective procedure cannot distinguish between an uncatalogued but functional protein coding sequence and the same with a couple of knockout mutations.
Isn't it a small problem for design that you can't anticipate the behavior of new molecules? Wouldn't it bolster the design hypothesis to demonstrate that design is possible?
Any version of ID consistent with all the evidence is indistinguishable from evolution.
