This isn't exactly news, but it is in the YEC category. I was browsing stuff on my server, and came across a directory of things related to Chuck Maier, a YEC who argued with folks on the SCIENCE Echo on FidoNet. One of the favorite arguments back then was "randomly assembling a specific 100 amino acid protein is too improbable to ever happen".

And I had a somewhat different take on a response to that.

WR> born are also zero,  going by the terms of the original
WR> SciCre argument.

The date on that? 1991-09-10. I had known that I had floated something of that sort much later on, but had since forgotten just how far back that went.

(As an aside, the Compuserve forums are going to be taken offline forever come this December 15th. If anyone has access to the evolution/creation threads there and feels like downloading them, I'd be interested in hosting that as a download.)
