Gay couples can't have biological kids together. So if homosexuality is genetic, why hasn't it died out?

One simple answer to this question that's occurred to me is that in many (most?) societies, gay men are forced to be closeted and usually pressured to marry and have kids like everyone else. So in other words, in most societies gay men end up having kids anyway.

To me, this scenario would have been far more common in history than gay couples.
