There is a bunch of stuff out there by protestants trying to discredit Catholicism because of pagan symbolism. (hee hee).
Dagon (Daygon) is even mentioned by name in the Bible.
I'm not saying it's wrong, but I'd like some reliable sources on that dagon hat / catholic mitre thing.

no link to Dagon, but again, it's clearly a co-option of an important bit of pagan symbolism.
