Your sentiments are appreciated, Kristine, although, unfortunatley not widespread.

I don’t think that’s true, Skeptic, I think a lot of his opponents will sincerely mourn the guy. He loomed so large when I went to college – there’s just no way you can be cavalier about a figure like him (whereas my utter lack of sympathy for Jerry Falwell took me by surprise).

My ex loves the Beatniks, but I got a clandestine thrill when we saw the footage of Buckley telling Alan Ginsburg that he was “naïve,” because he was and someone needed to say it. Silly yawping about Krishna. Unlike Buckley I am an appalling hedonist but I have little patience for the Beatniks, except for Kerouac. :)

An appalling hedonist who get's it?.....Krishna almighty I'M IN LOVE!!!

Although it is well known that without the massive ingestion of speed and the single rolls of paper Kerouac used on his portable typewriter to write is books, it is quite possible they may have been only very quick 1 page short stories.

Anyway why did Ginsberg like Krishna, when all of his 10,000 or so lovers were female? Isn't there a gay Hindu god he could have picked?
