Unfortunately, politicians set this up by conflating weather with climate.
The most convincing evidence I've seen is the movement of "zones," those lines on the map that used to come with seed packets, and which still show up in gardening magazines.
Climate worriers would do well to used some graphic technique like this in their sales pitch.
An example of a pitch that backfired is the claim some years ago that hurricanes would increase in numbers and severity. That flopped badly, although my unscientific spidey sense says the paths are changing. but that could also be weather.
