I think scenario 1 has been dealt with fairly comprehensively:

Men generally speaking don't have to fear that their "no" will be met with physical force.  

And let's face it, most guys have been socialized to be sluts. It took me a long time to figure out that I don't have to fuck someone just because I can.

I can't speak for scenario 2, I've never been a lesbian and probably never will be. I do remember a female co-worker being very offended by a couple of women kissing in her apartment building elevator. There's intolerance everywhere.

I have been hit on by gay men, though; I just find it amusing: "Oh, yeah, like that's gonna happen!"
