Describe the cell...
A basic unit of life.
Capable of self reproduction.
Capable of performing all the functions required for life (or in the case of multi-celled, differentiated organisms, at least containing the instructions for all the functions required for life).
Capable of independent growth.
Capable of internal metabolism.
How's that? And yes, everyone knows he wants someone to say 'machine'. Like that actually matters...
