I've got a guy on another forum who is still using Hovind's "the moon is receding at 6 inches per year, therefore more than 10,000 years ago it would have been inside the Earth" argument.
He also pulled out the (debunked by Creationists in 1966) argument that salty oceans are proof the Earth is young. |
Well, there's something to that. 6 inches a year for 10,000 years is 60,000 inches. Which is 5000 feet.
So 10 years ago it would have been inside the earth.
Because we all know the moon orbits at an altitude of less than 5000 feet. That's why commercial jets have to maneuver around it.
