Off Topic, but I wanted to keep it with the relevent bits.
I'm reading the AI and ID article that Richard linked to (from UD). One thing caught my interest was a 3-D mandelbrot set.
Some years ago, I had a high end Xenon pentium chip and used it to explore fractals. I even printed a few of the resulting images and one won an award in an art show.
Now, the math and processing power appears to be capable of developing fully 3-dimensional mandelbrot and julia fractals. This website has some absolutely stunning images and the second page has links to rendering software. http://www.skytopia.com/project/fractal/mandelbulb.html
Anyone who thinks complexity cannot derive from the simple, is stunningly clueless.
-------------- Ignored by those who can't provide evidence for their claims.
