How does science tell the difference between ‘natural selection’ and ‘artificial selection’? And wouldn’t any computer demonstration be artificial selection regardless?

There is much more of that on TT, where null has an entire thread Natural selection: Some simple questions.
Quote | kornbelt888: This leads me to ask, how do the Darwinists delineate between natural selection and artificial selection
KC: They don't, generally. The principle behind both is identical.
nullasalus: That doesn't seem right. Artificial selection is bluntly intentional and requires a mind. Natural selection isn't supposed to (or, if we're being very diplomatic and restrictive with the science, is utterly silent regarding such.) If delineating between artificial and natural selection isn't necessary, can I call all acts of selection artificial selection? Somehow, I don't think that would go over well.

And so on. |
Man, I'm gonna have to pay more attention to null. He's good. I especially like the bit where he describes a clear (if really contrived) example of genetic drift, then decides there's no good term for describing such things because he's apparently an idiot without the ability to use fucking Google. Way to go, genius.
